"It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas"

A few days after Thanksgiving, we made it out to the "Christmas Corral" (think pumpkin patch- pumpkins+ Christmas trees) to get a tree. Oliver was really excited to see the inflatable snowman when we got there, but wouldn't even get within 10 feet of it, even when the "snow" was turned on. He was too scared. Then, we dumped him off at the gingerbread house and let him play in the cornbox with all the trucks while we picked a tree. Which, since it was a little chilly and very windy, took about 1 minute. I'm not one to brave the cold and I won't even fake it, not even for a festive Christmas tree farm. Since our tree last year was a meager 4 feet to this year's 6-7 feet, we had to double up on decor. So, Oliver got to run around with the garland for a few days while I got the rest of the decorations. If you're wondering what to get him for Christmas, here's an idea: garland. I've never seen him so enamored in his life.

Clearly, he's mesmerized.

Look familiar?? Like I said, think pumpkin patch of one month ago.

He looked like this for at least a few days.

For those of you who are wondering, yes, he still asks to wear his "handsome outfit," (a.k.a., tie).

Doing a little yard work. Ignore the cinderblock fence/wall. Depressing, I know. That's Albuquerque- even at the fancy houses.

oh my word those pics of him are to die for. I was so confused with the garland thing, I was picturing him with either an artificial or real pine bough garland around his neck, glad to see it was just beads. ; ) how festive of you to get a real tree, i feel super lame that we have a fake one, but they are so much easier plus cheaper. but you just can't beat a real one. so pretty.

He is so cute. I've been laughing a lot about "tee toe rama" that Chris mentioned in his comment. What a cute little guy and having them around makes holidays especially Christmas so much fun. Your tree looks so pretty, I bet it smells so good!

December is definitely getting away from me. BTW, look for a cd in the mail of Arlington Christmas album we made. hope you like it!

Rebecca, I couldn't see your tree to clearly, but it looks like a big and beautiful one.

Thanks for sending those pictures! You totally caught Oliver's "mesmerized" face. How cute! And the garland beads look great on him. I'm with Eliza-- I couldn't quite picture him w/the other kind.

It doesn't seem like we've been gone that long, but Oliver sure seems to be growing up fast! So are you guys going to be traveling in Dec? If so, do you know when? Garrick got his schedule so we are trying to figure out when we could come, and well, we want to see you guys!

i LOVE his jacket. Where did you get that??? So cute!!!! I love that gingerbread house and corn box. My kids would have a blast.....This is the funnest time of the year. I love just watching their facial expressions. Ella tries to "decorate" the tree everday. She takes off three or four decorations and then puts them back on. CUTE!

Cute pictures- so fun. My kids got ahold of the garland beads as well and it took me about half an hour to untangle them. Oliver is looking more and more cute.
