Down by the River

We were cooped up all weekend long with some sort of stomach bug, so by the time Monday rolled around, I HAD to get out. We decided to make a family night out of throwing rocks in the river, one of Oliver's all-time favorite things to do.

What a pituresque scene. The two river boys. I'm sorry you've been sick, that's the worst!

Ah, aren't you guys cute? Those pictures turned out super sweet too. Do you guys have a name picked out for your little princess yet or if you do, are you not sharing until you have her? I couldn't remember...

Macy, It's about 10 minutes from our house. What you're seeing is a little canal fed by, and adjacent to, the big Rio Grande river, which runs right through the middle of ABQ.

Garrick, hey buddy, thanks for commenting on our blog. Great to see you here.

Ya, we have a name picked out. We think we're going to go with Taniqua.

I wish we had a river to throw rocks in. Or a creek. Or a pond. You know what? Even a puddle would suffice.

I'm so glad you all got better. Good photography Rebecca! Those are great shots, and they do capture a primal instinct in Chris that he may have passed on to Oliver. Carry on River King and Prince!

You should know that Taniqua is all the rage in Utah though....we've probably met 6 this last year :)

Carrie, are you serious about there really being Taniquas in Ut? The names that come out of that place make me wish I was from West Virginia

We had that bug here in DC too, small world. Glad you are back to your rock throwing ways.

What about Sha-naynay for your little princess. Yea when I worked at Primary Children's Hospital you should have seen the names we came across. The most memborable....

Exhibit A-Urine pronounced-Your ee nee

Exhibit B-twins named Orangejello & Lemonjello pronounced- LEMon ja lo & OR aun ja lo think french accent.

Exhibit C- Oaqoulei- pronounced Oakley.

Serious some brilliant people in Utah. So proud of my home state!
Speaking of brilliance Ben wanted to name Dane the Cambodia name Yo, so he could be "Hey, YO Sorenson!" So original and NOT funny.

I'm glad no one fell in...in a few years Christian, you can teach Oliver how to spend hours carrying trees down mountains in an "effort" to build a bridge.

Sounds like a fun Family night! What is it with boys and throwing rocks into water? I swear my boys could do it ALL day if I let them.

Brynn, Lemonjello and Orangejello is the saddest, best, funniest thing I've heard in quite a while.
