Getting Out

I went out for the first time with 2 kids last week- to Costco because they have the carts that fit a toddler AND a car seat. I cannot believe how much longer everything takes with 2 kids! But, it felt good to get out and it definitely gets easier. Since then, we've been to the aquarium, the park almost every day, out to ice cream, and even to the grocery store (OK, I had Jacob and Christian with me). Amelia is really becoming very sweet and a close second to Oliver as far as easy goes. She started sleeping through the night 3 nights ago, which has dramatically improved my sanity. Oliver is head over heels in love with Amelia. He loves to give her kisses, hugs, hold her, do baby talk with her, and even burp her (which if she spits up, he is quick to say, "Look, Mom, she spilled!").

Oliver loves Amelia's papasan (bouncer). Can we get one of these made for adults please???

Does Amelia look scared? Yes, very.

Christian showed Oliver the wonders of sprinklers.

Oliver trying to convince me that Amelia wants to play with his car. At least he's sharing, right?

Oh she is just so sweet! And I can't get over how big Oliver is getting, I can't believe it's been so long since we've seen you guys, we need to get over to Abq soon, we miss you guys!
And I totally hear you with the whole 2 kids thing--everything is such a bigger production. BTW, at the grocery store, I've found the only manageable way to go solo with both kids is to get that ginormous cart with the car attached to the front, that way Rylee rides in the car and Jadyn is up in the front. It's the only way I can do it with both! Although the really bad part is those things are a big pain to push! (and hand sanitizer for Rylee when she gets out) ;)

Two kids in a store sounds like a nightmare. I would need tranquilizer darts and a taser.

Good work getting out by yourself. It is always overwhelming in the beginning. I get panic attacks about it sometimes. But your right, it does get easier. Amelia is so adorable and looks even bigger than when I saw her just a couple of weeks ago. And hooray for sleeping through the night! That makes such a difference.

I didn't know she was sleeping through the night...wow. That was fast. She looks so cute in the last picture, esp. Lauren has that same look of fear whenever Kate/Taylor are near- can't blame her. I tried to go to Costco today with THREE kids and I got all the way there, unloaded, and was walking in and realized I left my debit card at home!!!! AHHH!

YEA, she is sleeping through the night!!! That is always the turning point. (c: Two kids going anywhere is an adventure...but it does get easier the more you do it and once the kiddos have got their schedules down...she is such a doll! It is so cute that Oliver is so in love with her!

Rebecca, Thanks for the update, and especially the great pictures! Amelia looks so cute-- and so much more mature than just a couple of weeks ago when she was here.

I'm glad that you're adjusting so well to taking 2 kids when you go places. It is quite a feat.

LOL "Look, Mom, she spilled!" Oliver must think this kid is pretty messy!

Such great pictures! Amelia really has changed and grown so much already since we saw her. Good for you for braving the store with two kids. It's always potentially a major adventure, but hey keeps life interesting right? So happy for you that she's sleeping through the night! We miss you all.

She is sooo cute. I love that last picture. She looks so different. i know I am not a pro, but taking two does get easier. I am dreading taking three around though. ugh. I don't even have enough arms for that business!
