Wow- it's been a while and this is going to be quite the catch-up post. Saturday, two weeks ago, was the last weekend of the famous Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. We had yet to make it down the official lift-off site, so we decided that this was the year to make it happen. We got up at an unreasonable hour, waded through the fiesta traffic, paid for parking and entrance into the park, only to find out 5 minutes later that the lift off had been canceled. So, instead we walked around, snapped a few pics of Gov. Bill Richardson, and then headed home, even resisting the urge to binge on a yummy New Mexican breakfast burrito after all of our troubles. Before we headed out on our second of three outings that day, we had a good ol' New Mexican hail storm. Next stop was the Albuquerque Aquarium. Oliver got as close to the glass as we could push him- he was totally freaked out. But Christian loved sharing all his shark knowledge with the little guy nonetheless. After a little run-in, literally, on the way home,we headed off Wall-E, the movie. What a day!
They just put in this beautiful Japanese garden at the aquarium and Oliver loved the waterfall.
We got Oliver a zoo and aquarium pass for his birthday a few months ago and we really have yet to use it. So, yesterday we made it out to the zoo, one hour before it closed (which, in my opinion, is the perfect time and perfect amount of time).
We finished off the night with Ironman, the movie, at our friends', the Alders. Oliver loves, loves, loves Eric and Rachel and follows them around and snuggles with them the whole time we're over there.

hm what do I say after that first comment, I mean it says it all. ??? Anyway, love all the pictures. What a huge bummer to get there and have it canceled. I would have been soooo mad, but I'm sure chris was really chill about it, right? ; ) what a pain. The aquarium sounds awesome, I'm with Ollie, there is no way I would get close to those sharks, even if there was a glass wall. Have you seen jaws? and then top it off with a fun night, isn't it so great having childless friends, its so the way to go.
Wow, you guys are quite the troopers. I'm amazed at all the stuff you're always zooming off to. That is sooo frustrating about the balloon fiesta. Is it just me or does that goatee on the Gov. say something like "I'm pretty high on myself."?
By the way, what did you think of Wall-e?
In my opinion, it was totally worth you guys going through that whole ordeal just so you could get that picture of Oliver in that hat. SO CUTE. I'm impressed with all of you for having that kind of stamina for that kind day! Fun times.
iron man is good, right? I liked it. Sounds like a BUSY day. I hope Olli didn't pull an Ella, which means throw fits all day. What's that pic of teh sidewalk and chair????
Pig, I'm usually a pretty good sport and don't know why I look so mad in that picture, but it might be because it was taken right after I rolled my ankle by stepping into a pothole. It's one thing to injure oneself doing something cool and fun, and quite another to do it by not looking at the ground during a critical step. Luckily the local glass repair shop was open and I turned out fine.
Ry, I liked Wall.E, although I think it is the runt of Pixar's litter, and I'm almost always annoyed by overt and overarching moralizing in kid's shows, even if i agree with the morals being ized. But I did like it. I love animated movies, and Pixar has a genius for them. It will take a lot to top Le Incredibles though.
Claire, what you are supposed to see in that picture is the white pile of hail. You're missing the forest for the trees, or something like that.
You guys, I am tired reading about that day. Wow. You are good sports. Kook sharing all his shark knowledge with Auber makes me smile.
Give Wall-e a re-think. Turns out it's frickin' awesome.
I'm confused was sharkman and sharkboy inside or outside of the tank in the photo because i'm sure they excel in either scenario.
that is a really cute picture of oliver. you should photo shop out the face of angry mccrankerson, though. kind of ruins it.
chris lol about your response to me. But in it I realized you totally needed to capitalize on your glass status with the window cleaning stuff. Why on earth didn't you call your business "The REAL Mr. Glass." man, you really missed the boat there.
